Films on Demand

The Films On Demand database is a streaming video platform that enables access to thousands of films from such providers as PBS, National Geographic, NOVA, Ken Burns, CBC, BBC, Frontline, TED, Frontline, Bill Moyers, the American Museum of Natural History, NBC, ABC, and many more. It allows easy integration with learning management systems, online lesson plans, distance learning courseware, and library catalog systems.

This trial will run through June 7, 2013.

RILM Abstracts of Music Literature

The database RILM Abstracts of Music Literature is a comprehensive music bibliography with over 700,000 records indexing material from 11,000 journals, dating back to 1967, and conference proceedings that date from 1835, as well as reviews, reference materials, monographs, and more on subjects such as musicology, ethnomusicology, composition, music analysis, music therapy, performance practice, popular music studies, dance studies, dramatic arts, and more.

This trial will run through June 11, 2013.

CINAHL Complete

The EBSCOhost database CINAHL Complete "is the world's most comprehensive source of full-text for nursing & allied health journals, providing full text for more than 1,300 journals indexed in CINAHL. This authoritative file contains full text for many of the most used journals in the CINAHL index, with no embargo." It also indexes over 5,400 journals compared to 3,075 with CINAHL as we presently have it.

This trial will run through June 3, 2013.

SPORTDiscus with Full Text

EBSCO's SPORTDiscus with Full Text provides full text for 530 journals indexed in SPORTDiscus, several hundred of which are not available in full text in any other EBSCO database.

SPORTDiscus bibliographic coverage includes "sport, physical fitness, exercise, sports medicine, sports science, physical education, kinesiology, coaching, training, sport administration, officiating, sport law & legislation, college & university sport, disabled persons, facility design & management, intramural & school sport, doping, health, health education, biomechanics, movement science, injury prevention rehabilitation, physical therapy, nutrition, exercise physiology, sport & exercise psychology, recreation, leisure studies, tourism, allied health, occupational health & therapy, public health and more."

This trial will run through June 3, 2013.

Mental Measurements Yearbook with Tests in Print

The Mental Measurements Yearbook "provides users with a comprehensive guide to over 3,000 contemporary testing instruments. Designed for an audience ranging from novice test consumers to experienced professionals, [it] contains information essential for a complete evaluation of test products within such diverse areas as psychology, education, business, and leadership." This includes the full-text of the reviews published in all of the Mental Measurements Yearbook from the 1st yearbook through the 18th edition in 2010. In addition to normal keyword searching, you can specify population, test name, author, purpose and test category.

Scheduled to run through April 6, 2013; still active.

PsycCRITIQUES

PsycCRITIQUES is a full-text database from the American Psychological Association offering reviews of scholarly and professional books in psychology as well as reviews from a psychological perspective of popular films and trade books. It includes approximately 40,000 reviews dating back to 1956. Our access from EBSCO is through the familiar EBSCOhost interface.

This trial will run through the end of the 2013 Summer II semester.

PsycEXTRA

PsycEXTRA is an American Psychological Association database complementing PsycINFO by offering documents including technical, annual and government reports, conference papers, newsletters, magazines, newspapers, and consumer brochures. It also indexes around 20,000 records for gray literataure not covered by any other APA database. Our access from EBSCO is through the familiar EBSCOhost interface.

This trial will run through the end of the 2013 Summer II semester.
