Karakoram Highway, Silk Road & Hunza Valley of Northern Pakistan

A Slide Lecture by Syed Tariq Anwar

Dr. Syed Tariq Anwar, professor of marketing and international business, will present a slide lecture about his recent visit to his native Pakistan on Thursday, September 14, 2000, at 7:00 p.m. in the Cornette Library Lecture Room.

Dr. Anwar will be discussing some of the more than 2000 photographs he took of the Karakoram Highway and Hunza Valley in May of 1999 and 2000. This remote area of Pakistan is home to some of the highest mountain peaks (Himalayas, Hindu Kush, and Karakoram) and most ancient cultures in the world.

Forty-two of Dr. Anwar's photographs are on exhibit in the Cornette Library from August 24th through December 5th in an exhibit entitled "Karakoram Highway & Hunza Valley". An additional 150 photographs play in a continuously revolving loop on a computer at the exhibit.

The lecture is sponsored by the Friends of the Cornette Library. Both the lecture and the exhibit are free and open to the general public.
