Using the Online Catalog to Check Your Account
All WTAMU students, faculty, staff, retired faculty, retired staff as well as patrons who have been given Temporary Borrower cards automatically have accounts in the Cornette Library's online catalog. You can use that account to find out what you have checked out, renew your books, or place a hold on a book that is checked out by someone else.
See what you have checked out
Select Your Account on the Online Catalog's home page or from the
button in the catalog. Log in using the access method for your patron group.
- Students, Faculty, Staff - Enter the last 7 digits of your Buffalo Gold Card number (including leading zeros),and your Last Name.
- Dependents - Click on the drop down box and select Barcode (numbers only). Enter all 9 digits of your Buffalo Gold Card number and your Last Name.
- Friends and other Temporary Card holders - Click on the drop down box and select Barcode (numbers only). Enter the 13-digit barcode number (without the A) and your Last Name.
Remember to log out by clicking on the
or
buttons at the top of the page.
Renew your books
From the online catalog, click on the
button. Log in using the access method for your patron group.
- Students, Faculty, Staff - Enter the last 7 digits of your Buffalo Gold Card number (including leading zeros),and your Last Name.
- Dependents - Click on the drop down box and select Barcode (numbers only). Enter all 9 digits of your Buffalo Gold Card number and your Last Name.
- Friends and other Temporary Card holders - Click on the drop down box and select Barcode (numbers only). Enter the 13-digit barcode number (without the A) and your Last Name.
Under Items Checked Out, check the "Renew?" box by those titles you want to renew.
Click on the Renew Items button.
The Renewal Status column will indicate whether your books were successfully renewed and will show the new due date. If your books were not renewed, please phone the Circulation Desk (651-2223) for assistance.
You cannot renew books online if they are overdue or if you have an outstanding fine of $5.00 or more. Other restrictions may also apply.
Request a book that is checked out
When you find a book in the online catalog that is checked out to someone else, you may "place a hold" on that book -- that is, ask the Library to hold the book for you at the Circulation Desk when it is returned so that you will be the next person to get it. This service is only available for books which are checked out. You cannot place a hold on a book that is listed in the online catalog as available.
From the Brief or Full Record screen for the book you are interested in, click on the
button in the top navigation bar. The login screen will appear. Log in using the access method for your patron group.
- Students, Faculty, Staff - Enter the last 7 digits of your Buffalo Gold Card number (including leading zeros),and your Last Name.
- Dependents - Click on the drop down box and select Barcode (numbers only). Enter all 9 digits of your Buffalo Gold Card number and your Last Name.
- Friends and other Temporary Card holders - Click on the drop down box and select Barcode (numbers only). Enter the 13-digit barcode number (without the A) and your Last Name.
On the next page, a drop-down box will appear. Choose Hold and click OK. Enter the last seven digits of your Buffalo Gold Card number in the appropriate box on the request form that appears. Then scroll down and click the Submit Request button at the bottom of the page.
Circulation will call and/or e-mail you when the book has been returned and will hold the book for you for 10 days at the Circulation Desk.
