Getting a Library Card
WTAMU Faculty, Staff, and Students
West Texas A&M University students, faculty, staff, and retirees are automatically registered for a Cornette Library card since they are a part of the University's computer database. You must obtain a Buffalo Gold Card which serves as a library card for Cornette Library. It must be presented each time you check out materials.
For students, your Library registration expires at the end of the semester in which you are currently enrolled. Books should be returned before the end of each semester.
Library registrations for faculty, staff, and retired faculty/staff do not expire until you discontinue your affiliation with the University.
WTOnline students who do not come to campus and who do not plan to come to campus will be issued special distance education library cards. WTOnline students who have been issued Buffalo Gold Cards will use that card as their library card.
WTAMU dependents (spouses and children) qualify for library privileges, but will need to fill out a library application form. Your Buffalo Gold Card serves as your official library card and must be presented each time you check out materials.
Persons who present TexShare cards at the Circulation Desk will receive a temporary library card upon completion of an application form.
Friends of the Cornette Library
Members of the Friends of the Cornette Library who are not students, faculty, staff, or retirees will also receive a special "Friends" card upon completion of an application form. Various levels of membership ranging from a minimum of $25 to $1000 annually are available with associated levels of check-out privileges.
Destination WT Students
Amarillo College, Clarendon College, Frank Phillips College and South Plains University students who have committed to transfer to West Texas A&M University after earning their associates degree are eligible for a Temporary Cornette Library card.
