The Information Technology Service Center (ITSC) is a centralized location for faculty, staff, and students to request assistance with IT related problems or questions. The IT Service Center is staffed by a full-time Help Desk Manager, and several student employees.
Upon receiving a call, an IT Service Center employee will attempt to resolve all problems at the initial point of contact. However, certain problems will require the attention of more specialized technical personnel, at which point the ITSC employee will enter a work order and route it to the appropriate department for assistance. The receiving department will then contact the customer and work with them to resolve the problem.
The ITSC is located in Room 29 of the Hastings Electronic Learning Center and may be contacted by phone at (806) 651-HELP (4357) or via email at itsc@wtamu.edu.
The Network Services department maintains all core functions of the campus network including File and Print services, DNS, DHCP, Email, Virus Protection, and Security.
The Network Services department is located in the Computer Center, just across from the Jack B. Kelley (JBK) Student Center.
The campus telecommunications network at West Texas A&M University consists of two NEC Hybrid PBXs. The network connects 35 buildings, including all residence halls, and has over 2300 telecommunication devices attached.
The Telecommunications Services provides other core functions including telecommunications and data network MACs (Moves, Adds, and Changes). Additionally, we provide 911 connection services to the Potter-Randall County for emergency notification. Telecommunications Services also conducts all billing and charge-back account management for the Information Technology Division.
