The event will culminate with the naming of the 2009 Homecoming Queen and King finalists. 9 p.m. • West entrance of wt to the bonfire site Torch Procession & Bonfire The Torch Procession will begin at 9 p.m. at the University’s west entrance, where WTAMU President J. Patrick O’Brien will light the torch from the Eternal Flame. He and Mrs. O’Brien will then lead the Homecoming Procession through campus to the Homecoming Bonfire site. Runners will kick off the WTAMU Homecoming Parade 11 a.m. • beginning at 4th Ave. Homecoming Parade Join WTAMU and the community in celebrating Homecoming with marching bands, floats and the University mascot. 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. • Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum (PPHM) Panhandle Plains Fall Festival Come Home to Your Museum! In conjunction with WTAMU’s homecoming festivities, PPHM hosts demonstrations, children’s crafts and activities for all ages that engage visitors in the rich history, art and archaeology of the region. Popcorn, lemonade, soft drinks and water will be available for purchase during the WT Homecoming Parade and throughout the event. The festival is free to the public. 3 p.m. • Kimbrough Memorial Stadium tailgate area Homecoming Barbecue Alumni Tailgate Party and Ultimate Cookoff Campus groups will be vying for top honors in the tailgate cook-off and the vintage tailgate trophy. 6 P.M. • Kimbrough Memorial Stadium WTAMU vs. Eastern New Mexico University Cheer on the Buffs as they take on Eastern New Mexico University. Halftime activities will include the crowning of the 2009 Homecoming Queen and King. |
