Diversity and Inclusion Imperatives and Goals
The imperatives and goals of the Office for Diversity and Inclusion are supporting West Texas A&M University’s commitment to a welcoming campus environment and to a respectful workplace that values diversity and inclusion by serving as a resource and advocate for students, faculty, and staff on matters or concerns of diversity and inclusion through education, outreach, and advocacy. To accomplish these imperatives and goals, the office is committed to
- enhancing multicultural, first generation, LGBTQ, and women’s experiences on campus;
- supporting undergraduate student academic achievement, retention, and graduation; and
- collaborating with colleges, departments, units, and university student and employee groups, in particular those University units that work with international students, to promote a welcoming and supportive campus community and external community for all who study, live, and work at the university.
