University SING is an annual, campus-wide event to be held this year on April 17 and 18 at 8:00 p.m. in JBK Legacy Hall.
University SING is an honored tradition of student organizations competing against one another in a song and dance competition. Student organizations often team up with one another to put together the best show possible. Up for grabs are trophies, prize money, and bragging rights for the next year.
This year's theme is California Dreamin'. Student organizations put together their own collaboration of songs and create their own dances to showcase the theme. As you may have guessed, the point of University SING is to "sing" all the lyrics to each song, which proves to be quite entertaining. A panel of judges determines which teams put on the best performances.
Admittance to dress rehearsal on Wednesday, April 17, is $1.00 per person, and admittance to the judged performance on Thursday, April 18, is $3.00 per person. Proceeds go toward the prize money for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Tickets can be purchased in advance or on the night of the show at the JBK Information Desk. This event is sponsored and hosted by West Texas A&M University Campus Organizations Resources and Entertainment (CORE) Office. All questions/comments may be directed to the CORE Office at 806-651-2313.
