Time: 6:00 p.m.
Location: Kimbrough Memorial Stadium

The Zeta Tau Alpha Delta Eta chapter at West Texas A&M University will host a Pink Out football game with the WTAMU Buffs football team on at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19.

ZTA and WTAMU encourage all fans to wear pink to the game. ZTA members will distribute pink ribbons to all fans at the game. Members of the team will wear pink wristbands while cheerleaders wear pink hair ribbons. A special halftime presentation will honor local breast cancer survivors.

This event is an annual game that the sorority and football team have partnered in order to fight breast cancer. ZTA’s national philanthropy is breast cancer education and awareness, and any money raised during the event will benefit the ZTA Foundation and its philanthropic initiatives.

In the week leading up to the game, ZTA will also host Think Pink!® Week on the West Texas A&M University campus to raise more awareness. Monday ZTAs will be selling cotton candy, on Tuesday students will have the opportunity to partake in a pink photobooth, and “bra-pong” will take place on Wednesday. On Thursday, Oct. 17th, the chapter will host a campus-wide yogurt eating contest to collect pink lids for Yoplait’s Save Lids to Save Lives® program. Throughout the week ZTA’s will be kissing away cancer by having a kissable banner in the JBK and a penny war Sexiest Legs competition in which all organizations on campus will submit a candidate for the sexiest legs at WT. All events will take place in the Jack B. Kelly Student Center.

“We are so excited for this year’s Pink Week and Pink Out game! We have so much planned,” Collin Pursley, ZTA’s Philanthropy Chair, said. “I think that I’m most excited for Bra Pong on Tuesday!”

Zeta Tau Alpha was founded in 1898 at the State Female Normal School (now Longwood University) in Farmville, Va., and has more than 215,000 members worldwide. Breast cancer education and awareness became ZTA’s national philanthropy in 1992 and the organization partners with Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, Yoplait®, the National Football League and SELF magazine to promote awareness. Think Pink® is a registered trademark of Zeta Tau Alpha.
