BUFFALO WALK REGISTRATION The West Texas A&M University Buffalo Walk is a campus beautification and scholarship endowment project sponsored by the WTAMU Alumni Association. The Walk, located on the north side of Old Main on the WTAMU campus, includes engraved granite bricks of various sizes recognizing alumni and friends of the University. It creates a focal point on campus for current and former students to enjoy. Proceeds from the Buffalo Walk will assist the Alumni Association in providing support to the University. A portion of the proceeds will also supplement the Student Alumni Board Endowed Scholarship Fund which assists students in pursuing their educational dreams. UNIVERSITY EXCELLENCE AWARD NOMINATION The West Texas A&M University Alumni Association University Excellence Award Program was created in 1967 to honor faculty, staff or administrative personnel who have made significant contributions to higher education at WTAMU. All WTAMU faculty, staff and administrative personnel who have completed at least three years of service to the University are eligible for this award. The following criteria should be considered when nominating an individual for the University Excellence Award. 1. Service to West Texas A&M University.
2. Service to students of West Texas A&M University.
3. Service to the community.
4. Service to the profession of the nominee. THE GENERAL PUBLIC IS INVITED TO SUBMIT NOMINATIONS. The recipient is honored with a $500 stipend, compliments of the WTAMU Alumni Association and First State Bank, at the Phoenix Banquet held annually on the first Saturday in May.
