New Student Orientation

Students who plan to attend WTAMU in fall 2009 will be able to sign up for New Student Orientation beginning April 1, 2009. The current information and form is only for students who will attend WTAMU in spring (Jan.) 2009.

What is New Student Orientation (NSO)?

The spring New Student Orientation is a one-day program that prepares incoming students for success at West Texas A&M University. It will:

  • Make you feel at home at NSO and during your first year at WTAMU

  • Provide you with tips and strategies for becoming a successful student

  • Familiarize you with the campus

  • Give you the opportunity to meet future classmates and make friends

  • Equip you with information about available resources, like Student Medical Services

  • Provide academic advising

  • Help you enroll in your first University classes

By attending New Student Orientation, you will gain the information necessary to start this next step for attending WTAMU, which will ultimately prepare you for the rest of your life.

Who Can Attend?

New freshmen who have been admitted to the University are required to attend New Student Orientation, but parents and transfer students can attend too. You can verify your admission status by calling 1-800-99-WTAMU.

  • All incoming freshmen will attend NSO in order to learn about the University and register for classes
  • Transfer students can attend NSO; however, NSO attendance is not mandatory
  • Family and guests are also invited

Note: Guest sessions run concurrently with student sessions.
