New Student Orientation Pretesting

Pre-Orientation Testing

The TSI Assessment is the only approved test, effective Fall 2013. All testing must be taken care of prior to the start of Orientation. If a student only needs to test in one area, the TSI Assessment allows for the student to only pay for that section. Students who have not tested will be asked to change their NSOdate until they have completed the appropriate testing. To verify your testing needs, please contact the Office of Admissions at 806.651.2020 or visit the WTAMUTexas Success Initiative webpage for details.

The entire test is untimed but generally takes about 2-3 hours.

Students in the State of Texas can make arrangements through Educational Services to test in their local community at a local community college or university testing center, if the testing center agrees to proctor the assessment. Students outside of Texas can contact Educational Services for information and assistance to set up testing in their local community.

Students unable to meet testing requirements in their local community before their scheduled NSO can schedule to test on the Wednesday before the Thursday-Friday NSO dates. NSO Pre-Orientation TSI Assessment Registration Form

TSI Pre-Assessment ActivityPre-Assessment Activity

Any student testing must first complete the TSI Pre-Assessment Activity (PAA). The PAA can be located online at www.wtamu.edu/tsipaa. Upon completion, a certificate of completion will be emailed to the student. Educational Services will require proof of this document before a student is allowed to take the TSI Assessment. Once the PAA has been completed, with documentation of completion, the student will not have to repeat the PAA to retest.

All needed testing must be completed before the New Student Orientation officially begins.
