New Student Orientation Family

En EspanolFamily

As your student begins to discover the buff in them, we invite you to take part in our informative family and guest sessions. We have designed these sessions to assist you as you continue to guide and support your student through their transition. Additionally, these sessions will provide you with all the necessary nuts-and-bolts information that you will need to know. By attending these sessions, not only will you feel better about your choice in WTAMU for your student's education, but you will gain a sense of Buff Pride. We strongly encourage you to attend the family and guests sessions, although it is not required of you. (Please note that it is mandatory that your student attend all sessions at orientation in order to register for classes.)

Please indicate the number of guests per student when registering for NSO. New Student Orientations are two days with the first day offering family sessions that run concurrently with student sessions. The second day is spent with your student in a specific rotation schedule taking care of all the necessary things to prepare for the fall, such as advising and registration, obtaining a Buff Gold Card (student ID), speaking to Financial Aid, Business Office, and Career Services, etc. (Tentative schedules coming soon.)

Prior to orientation, your student needs to turn in all documentation and have all testing done. For more information on things your student needs to complete before attending an orientation, see the Homework tab, or click here.
