STARR Center
The STARR Center's responsibilities include:
- Advising of all freshman and sophomore students
- Advising and registration of all Texas Success Initiative (TSI) affected
prospective and currently enrolled students
- Advising of undecided and general studies or B.A.A.S. degree majors
with fewer than 60 hours credit
- Maintaining compliance with state TSI laws and University Developmental
Education Plan
- Assisting with New Student Orientations (NSO)
- Assisting faculty in locating and advising high-risk students through
the Early Alert program
- Advising of freshman probatation students through the Academic Fitness
program
- Making referrals to other resources available for academic success
- Providing a central source for degree checklists
- Coordinating the Support-A-Buff program
