If the University has reason to believe that imminent danger to persons or property exists if a student is permitted to remain on campus pending the outcome of a hearing, then the vice president for student services or judicial officer may order temporary suspension of the student and withdrawal of consent to remain on campus for the interim period pending a full hearing. Any student so suspended shall be afforded an informal hearing before the judicial officer within two (2) working days as defined by the University. It is the student’s responsibility to request in writing an informal hearing by following the directions provided in the temporary suspension letter. The “Procedures for Hearings” section hereinafter set forth shall not apply to any informal hearings. The judicial officer will determine the process for the informal hearing. The issue to be decided at the informal hearing shall be limited to whether the continued suspension of the student pending the outcome of a full hearing is warranted. The judicial officer shall conduct the informal hearing and then make a decision which will be final pending the outcome of a full hearing.
