STUDENT BILL OF RIGHTS

This Student Bill of Rights, Disciplinary Bill of Rights, Victim’s Rights and Academic Bill of Rights do not serve to limit or infringe upon any other right a person may be afforded. Violations of these rights shall be referred to the appropriate hearing body.

I. Students have the right to inquire about and to recommend improvements in rules and procedures affecting the welfare of students.
II. Students have the right to form or join any association for the purpose of examining and discussing all questions of concern to them including questions relating to University actions, procedures and rules.
III. Students have the right to participate in a free exchange of ideas within parameters of appropriate classroom decorum, and there shall be no University rule or administrative procedure that in any way abridges the rights of freedom of speech, press, expression, petition and peaceful assembly as set forth in the U.S. Constitution.
IV. Students shall be treated on an equal basis in all areas and activities of the University, regardless of race, creed, color, religion, gender, age, disability, national origin or sexual orientation.
V. Students have the right to personal privacy except as otherwise provided by law.
