Office of Writing Programs What We Do The Office of Writing Programs (OWP) oversees all writing courses that are part of Line 10 the WTAMU CORE Curriculum (ENGL 1301, 1302 and 2311), as well as all Developmental Writing Courses (ENGL 0302). What We Teach WTAMU's CORE writing curriculm is structured around a rhetorical focus. Why? Most of the writing that you will do in your academic and professional careers is persuasive in nature. By making you a better arguer, we will make you a better writer. How Can We Help You Being able to write well is one of the - if not THE - most important skills that you can develop. You will use it regularly in every class that you take. And survey after survey of potential employers indicate that it is skill they want most in new employees. You will carry the work that you do in ENGL 0302, 1301, 1302 and 2311 with you into the rest of your WTAMU career and beyond. How You Can Reach Us If you have questions or comments about the OWP, please contact Dr. Steve Severn at 651-2475 or sesevern@mail.wtamu.edu. |
