English 2311 - Introduction to Professional and Technical Communication

Curriculum Overview


English 2311 provides an introduction to the major genres of business and technical communication including correspondence, resumes, reports and proposals.


Curriculum Assumptions

WTAMU’s common curriculum for English 2311 assumes that students have successfully completed the course of study for English 1301. As such, students are expected to have gained familiarity with:
  • Fundamentals of rhetoric and argumentation
  • Aspects of rhetorical grammar discussed in Chapters 1, 7, 8, 9 and 13 of Martha Kolln’s Rhetorical Grammar
