Professional Profile

Mrs. Fredman joined the Department of Communication Disorders in the Fall of 2014. She received her Bachelor’s and Master’s from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) in 2002 and 2004, respectfully. In the Fall of 2014, Mrs. Fredman started pursuing a Ph.D. in Speech and Hearing Sciences from TTUHSC in Lubbock.

Teaching and Related Service

Mrs. Fredman currently teaches courses in phonetics, language development, and language disorders. In addition, she supervises graduate students working with adults at Jan Werner Adult Daycare Center.

She has experience treating pediatrics in the Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) and geriatrics in the long term care setting. She has also supervised WTAMU graduate students in communication disorders for 7 years in both settings.

Mrs. Fredman is licensed to treat in the state of Texas and a current member of the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association.

Research Activities

Mrs. Fredman’s research interests include efficacy of treatment for autism spectrum disorders in the pediatric and adult population. In the coming semesters, she will begin a pre-dissertation project for the PhD program with an emphasis on implementation of evidence based practice with use of an interactive metronome.

Personal Sketch

Mrs. Fredman is a native of Amarillo. She and her husband, David, have two children, Nealey (7) and AJ (3). Away from WTAMU, she enjoys cheering on the “Red Raiders” during football season and cooking.
