NOTES: Theatre majors are required to sign up for only one credit hour of practicum (THRE 1120, 3199) per semester (six hours total). Program Requirements - Every theatre major will perform satisfactorily in at least one role or technical crew position, (including design, management and production running crews) for one show per semester.
- All theatre performance majors will audition for all BIT main-stage shows, unless excused from audition by the director of the production.
- All theatre majors will attend the strike for all BIT main-stage productions.
- All theatre majors will attend the required jury evaluation at the end of the semester.
- New theatre majors will have a jury at the end of their first semester in the program.
- All theatre majors will have a jury at the end of each spring semester.

Required Courses for Emphases Performance Option - THRE 1352, 2374, 3312, 3351, 3374, 4312, 4351 and three hours from 2331, 3335, 3342 and 4335.
Technical Theatre Option - THRE 2331, 3335, 3340, 3342, 4335, 4345 and nine upper-level theatre hours.

Teacher Certification Students who desire a teaching certificate with a major in theatre should refer to the "Department of Education" section. It is the recommendation of the theatre faculty that theatre teaching certificate candidates stage manage one Branding Iron Theatre (BIT) production, serve on two BIT running crews and participate in hosting two BIT University Interscholastic League (UIL) one-act play contests. |
