Phone: 806-651-2613 Professional Profile Dennis joined the Department of Education as director of the Panhandle Alternative Certification for Educators program in 2000 following a fourteen-year career as public school educator and administrator. She received a B.S. from West Texas State University in 1977 and a M.Ed. in educational leadership from West Texas A&M University in 1997. Teaching and Related Service Dennis teaches Secondary Classroom Management and Discipline.
She serves as chair of the Consortium of State Organizations for Texas Teacher Education and is past-president of the Texas Alternative Certification Association.
Dennis serves on the Texas Education Agency Division of Educator Standards Educator Preparation Advisory Committee. Research and Creative Activity Dennis has been involved in two U.S. Department of Education Transition to Teaching grants in cooperation with other TAMU system alternative certification programs. These grants target placement of teachers in high-need schools teaching high-need areas such as math, science, foreign language and bilingual education. |
