Designing and Deploying Renewable Energy Systems in Central America

This project allows WTAMU Engineering students to apply their knowledge while helping the local community of Danli. Students will conduct evaluations of the land, river, mountains, and other natural resources, as well as develop and work on the actual construction of two primary systems during their stay in Honduras.Students will also participate in excursions to a coffee farm, the local university, and a cigar factory. This program is part of a Spring semester course.

  • Estimated cost of program: $1,563
  • Program fee includes: airfare, accommodation, meals (three per day), required field trips, local transportation, insurance.
  • Program fee does not include: course tuition and fees, personal spending money, passport fees.
  • Program dates: March 9-16, 2018
