SIFE – Students in Free Enterprise What is SIFE? The WTAMU SIFE team is a student organization of the College of Business. Students in Free Enterprise is a global organization active on college campuses in more than 40 countries. Around the world, more than 1,800 SIFE teams create economic opportunity for others by developing outreach projects that teach: - Market Economics
- Success Skills
- Entrepreneurship
- Financial Literacy
- Business Ethics
- Environmental Sustainability
SIFE’s vision is to help people achieve their dreams through free enterprise education. Why Join SIFE? SIFE team members learn leadership, teamwork, communication and project management skills through hands-on application of classroom concepts to solve real-world problems. Through service learning, SIFE team members develop their own personal potential to create economic opportunity by learning, practicing and teaching the principles of free enterprise. The SIFE organization is funded by more than 200 corporations. Career fairs at each competition allow SIFE members access to recruiters from SIFE sponsors. What Does a SIFE Team Do? The WTAMU SIFE team completes about 30 projects every year. Each Spring the team competes at a regional competition for the right to advance to the national competition. The team has won a regional championship and advanced to the national level each year since 1994. The team makes a formal presentation to a panel of judges representing the corporations and entrepreneurs who fund SIFE. After students present a written report and give an oral presentation, judges determine which teams were the most successful at creating economic opportunity for others. How Do I Contact SIFE?
