Irish is the scenery and lighting designer for the WTAMU Theatre Program and teaches classes in scenic design, lighting design, design concepts and introduction to theatre arts.
Irish's work was recently selected for publication in Theatre Design and Technology Magazine, along with a front cover image and was also seen in American Theatre Magazine in 2006. In the summer of 2007 his work was exhibited at the Prague Quadrennial in Prague, Czech Republic (an international symposium and exhibition of theatre designers from around the world). In January, he designed the lighting for Arthur Miller’s "The Price at Vermont’s Northern Stage" (a LORT D professional theatre) and will return to light "The History Boys" at the end of September. In 2008, he designed for "Moonlight and Magnolias" at TheatreSquared, Northwest Arkansas’ only professional theatre company and the set for "Hamlet" at Oral Roberts University. He designed the scenery for the 2008 WTAMU fall productions - "Proof", "Rabbit Hole" and "Laughter on the 23rd Floor". Some of his favorite designs include "The Elephant Man," "Cabaret," "Big Love" by Charles Mee, and "The Night of the Iguana." Irish recently designed the scenery and lighting for a world premiere play by Robert Ford entitled "My Father’s War" with New York director Alice Jankell.
