Professional Profile

Scott Parr has been a life wellness instructor at WTAMU since 2006. He received his B.A. in kinesiology at Hardin Simmons University. He also received an M.A. in kinesiology from Sam Houston State University and an M.A. in education from Baylor University.

Teaching and Related Service

In addition to teaching, Coach Parr also is the offensive coordinator for the WTAMU Buffs football team.  In his first season with the team, West Texas A&M was 12-1 and won the Lone Star Conference Championship. Parr also is an active member of The Church of Christ at the Colonies in Amarillo.

Research and Creative Activity

Parr’s research interests include nutrition and how it maximizes athletic performance, weight training and life wellness balance.

Personal Sketch

Coach Parr lives in Amarillo and is married to the former Kyla Flippo of Plainview.  She is a registered nurse and works at Texas Oncology.  They have been married nine years and are expecting their first child in February.
