Professional Profile Cooper began coaching college basketball in 1982 at Wayland Baptist University in Plainview. He has been the head men’s basketball coach and an instructor in physical education at West Texas A&M University since May 1993. Teaching and Related Service Cooper teaches safety (SES 3303) each semester in the WTAMU Department of Sports and Exercise Sciences. He has served as the faculty adviser to the WTAMU Student Athlete Advisory Committee and has assisted student athletes in the organization and implementation of many of their local community service endeavors. Research and Creative Activity Cooper serves as the Lone Star Conference representative to the National Association of Basketball Coaches NCAA Division II Congress. Personal Sketch Rick and Janie Cooper have two children. Tyler is a former Buff basketball player and winner of the WTAMU President’s Award, which is the highest award given to a male student athlete from WTAMU. Their daughter Kori is a junior at the University of Nebraska, where she plays volleyball for the Huskers | | |
