The Remnant Trust makes its collection of ancient and rare documents and volumes available to colleges, universities, and other organizations for use by students faculty, scholars, and members of the public who are encouraged to read, hold, and discuss these original works. The collection includes the great writings of civilization, from Plato and the King James Bible, to Homer, Galileo, Luther, Calvin, Milton, Jefferson, and Lincoln.
Dr. Hallmark, Provost/VP Academic Affairs, Dr. O'Brien, President WTAMU, Dr. David Baum, Director of the Remant Trust at WTAAMU, and Kris Bex, President, The Remnant Trust have created a unique and long-term partnership.
Each year, WT will hold public presentations, conduct community outreach, conduct courses based in the Trust's primary documents, support research and follow the Remnant Trust's motto that "great ideas belong to everyone." Public lectures will be held each fall at the Panhandle-Plains Museum, and 60 works will be on display in the museum's Research Center for students and the public to use and enjoy. Courses are offered through the university and continuing education, and the public is encouraged to read and hold these rare pieces of history.
The Remant Trust Experience at WTAMU is generously sponsored by Pattilou Dawkins, Mary Emeny, The Mays Foundation, Geneva and Stanley Schaeffer, Joan and Steve Urban, Barbara and Jim Whitton, and an Anonymous Donor.
Support for the fall 2011 public presentations is generously provided by Brown and Fortunato, PC; Roni and Patrick Swindell in honor of the students of Ascension Academy; Interstate Bank; Norma and Tom Cambridge; and Sue and Bill Hale.
Public lecture dates for fall 2011 are Thursdays, 9/22, 10/13, and 11/10. See the Public Programs and WTAMU Courses link in the right-hand bar for additional details.
