These are approximate costs associated with program application:

  • $116.00 for the TExES content exam
  • $35.00 TEA Technology Fee (due at acceptance into the program)

These are approximate costs associated with program participation:

  • $40.00 non‐refundable graduate school application fee
  • $116.00/certification exam (at least 2 are required of every candidate: content and PPR)*
  • Approximately $1200.00 /course for in‐state tuition and fees*
  • Textbooks and supplies (varies by course – estimate not provided)

These are approximate costs associated with the supervised teaching experience:

Option 1 Paid Internship [eligible candidate being hired on by ISD]

  • $78.00 fee for an intern certificate*
  • $37.75 for the criminal background check fee*
  • $10.00 fee for the digital fingerprinting service*
  • $2000.00 internship supervision fee (paid through school district payroll deduction, $250.00/month for nine months)

Option 2 Clinical Teaching [previously known as student teaching]

  • Approximately $2400.00 in tuition for the 6 SCH Clinical Teaching courses, and
  • $1200.00 clinical teaching supervision fee [program fee – separate from tuition]

Upon completion of all certification requirements, these are additional costs:

  • $78.00 fee for the Texas Standard Teaching Certificate*
  • Tuition/fees for additional course work to complete the MAT degree (optional)

*Exam fees, certificate fees, and fingerprinting fees are set by the Texas Education Agency and are subject to change. Tuition and fees are established by the Texas legislature and are subject to change; estimates for Texas and border county residents are provided; residency status is determined by the Admission’s Office.
