M.B.A. Portfolio

BUSI 6105: MBA Portfolio serves as a capstone event in your MBA program. Rather than have you complete a comprehensive examination or a master's thesis, we instead ask each of our prospective graduates to compile their best graduate work into a portfolio that illustrates the knowledge they have gained, the skills they have honed, and the goals they have accomplished. Once completed, your portfolio will represent a tangible symbol of the time and effort you put into your graduate education.

Your portfolio will consist mainly of projects, presentations, exams, or other artifacts that you create during your MBA studies. Thus, we recommend that you prepare for BUSI 6105 by doing the following:

  1. Take pride in the fact that you are an MBA student, and strive for excellence in all of your coursework.
  2. After each semester, ask yourself this question: What set of my MBA work best demonstrates my (a) understanding of the business world, (b) ability to work with quantitative data, (c) capacity to communicate effectively, and (d) my potential to lead an organization?
  3. Save digital copies of all your MBA work in a safe, secure location. You will use these files later when as you create your MBA Portfolio.

This course also provides the WT Paul and Virginia Engler College of Business an opportunity to gather benchmark data of student success and accomplishments through the evaluation and examination of your portfolios—an important facet of maintaining our AACSB Accreditation.
