The Panhandle Math and Science Conference will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 4 and Wednesday, Aug. 5 at West Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas. This two-day conference will bring together K-12 mathematics and science educators from across the Panhandle, South Plains, and surrounding areas. It is the first union of the WTAMU Panhandle Area Mathematics and Science Conference, the Region 16 Mathematics Conference, and the Region 16 Science Conference.

Region 16 Participant Registration Form

There is no registration cost for teachers who are working at a Region 16 contracting district or are a member of the Region 16 math or science grant.

Non-Region 16 Participant Registration Form

The registration cost for participants that are not from Region 16 is $50.

Call for Presenters

WTAMU and Region 16 are joining together to host the PMSC Conference on Tuesday, August 4 and Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at WTAMU in Canyon, Texas. This two day conference will bring together mathematics and science educators from across the Panhandle, South Plains, and surrounding areas. The conference will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a keynote and 1 hour breakout sessions each day.

Non-Educational Vendors

Educational exhibitors who bring new materials and ideas that teachers may take back to their classrooms have been a high point of previous Conferences. Exhibits (and Registration) will be held in and around the Jack B. Kelley Student Center Legacy Hall. Science and math workshops will be held in rooms in the JBK Student Center and the Classroom Center.

Exhibitor Categories have been expanded:

  • Gold level sponsor ($1,000): FaceTime to speak about your product/services at lunch, Priority placement for up to four exhibitor tables, Large size icon on poster, Full Page PowerPoint slide during lunch both days.
  • Silver level sponsor ($500): Quick company introduction at lunch, up to three exhibitor tables, Medium size icon on poster, Half Page PowerPoint slide during lunch both days.
  • Bronze level sponsor ($100): Up to two exhibitor tables, Small size icon on poster, Listed on PowerPoint slide.
  • Exhibitor only ($40): One exhibitor table

Please fill out the Exhibitor Form and return it to the Department of Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics at West Texas A&M by July 15, 2015. Exhibit space will be assigned on a first-requested-first-assigned basis in each category. Your Conference Registration Fee will be waived along with lunch on both days. Names of Sponsors or their Icons will be listed on a Conference Poster and in a PowerPoint Presentation. We will provide a link to the website for both Sponsors and Exhibitors.

Sponsors and Exhibitors who provide door prizes will receive tickets to hand out to registrants. There will be a “basket” for each door prize so that a registrant may select the door prize for which he/she is competing. Drawings will be held throughout each day for door prizes.

There will also be a “Meet-and-Greet” Reception at the Best Western Palo Duro Canyon Inn & Suites,  2801 4th Avenue in Canyon, during which our Conference Sponsors and Exhibitors may visit with registrants.  The space will be available 4-5 p.m. for non-education vendors to setup and 7-8 p.m. for take down. The reception itself will be from 5-7 p.m. Door prizes may also be provided for this event. Special room rates have been negotiated with both Best Western Palo Duro Canyon Inn & Suites and Holiday Inn Express & Suites, 2901 4th Avenue.

You are also invited to bring a workshop presenting an applicable idea, product, or service that your organization offers participating teachers. A Speaker Proposal Form is being finalized and will be posted at www.wtamu.edu/pmsc.
