She worked mainly in the medical field as a secretary for several years, before returning to West Texas A&M University to pursue her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work. She graduated in 2010 with her B.S. in Social Work. After graduation she was employed at Bivins Memorial Nursing Home as the Social Worker. She developed a passion for working with the elderly and advocating for those who couldn’t speak for themselves. While working at Bivins Memorial she attended the first graduate program offered at West Texas A&M University. She received her M.S. in Social Work in 2011. In 2013 Kristy decided to take a job with Gentiva Hospice as a Medical Social Worker. She was able to continue to apply her knowledge and passion to help the patients and families who are admitted to hospice services.

Kristy loves to spend time with her husband and son. They enjoy having a weekly movie night, and playing games. She also enjoys playing with her family dog, Buster, whom they adopted from Texas Panhandle Pet Savers in 2013.
