She received a B.S. in education from Central Michigan University (in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan) in 1970, a M.A. in curriculum and instruction from United States International University (in San Diego, California) in 1989 and an Ed.D. in technology and learning from United States International University in 1996. Teaching and Related Service Dr. Ray teaches a variety of classes within the Department of Education. Within the Instructional Design and Technology program, Dr. Ray teaches Foundations of Instructional Systems Design, Digital Publishing Systems and Applications, Instructional Technology Management, Distance Learning and E-Learning, Integrating Instructional Technologies into the Curriculum, Computer Technology and Reading Instruction, Webmastering Concepts and Techniques, and Instructional Design and Technology Projects. Outside of the program, Dr. Ray also teaches Educational Psychology, Classroom Management, and Education Research. Research and Creative Activity Dr. Ray's research interests include the integration of emerging technologies into teaching and learning and the instructional design of online learning environments. Personal Sketch Dr. Ray lives in Canyon with her husband, Bob Ray, stepson, Keith Ray and other furry family members, including Midnight, Amber, Misty Lu, Tila and BooBoo. Dr. Ray enjoys taking art classes at West Texas A&M University and dabbles in ceramics, painting, glassblowing and jewelry making. |
