Emily S. Kinsky, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor of Mass Communication

Dr. Kinsky joined the College of Fine Arts and Humanities at West Texas A&M in 2011. She received a B.A. in the University Scholar program at Baylor University in 1993, a M.A. in Mass Communication from Texas Tech University in 1995 and a Ph.D. in Mass Communication from Texas Tech University in 2008.
Teaching and Related Service
Dr. Kinsky serves in the Department of Communication. She teaches Media Design, Advertising Principles, Multiplatform Publishing and Qualitative Research Methods.
She is a member of the Public Relations Society of America and the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication, where she serves as the public relations division newsletter editor and the teaching research co-chair.
In the Department of Communication, she serves as the adviser for the WTAMU chapter of the National Broadcasting Society and co-adviser to the Advertising/Public Relations Society.
Research and Creative Activity
Dr. Kinsky’s research interests include the portrayal of public relations in the media, crisis communication, social media and the use of media by children.
Dr. Kinsky enjoys time with her husband and two children. On the rare chance that she has a free moment, she likes to read.
