Professional Profile

Dr. Hammer joined the Paul and Virginia Engler College of Business in 2014. ­She earned her B.B.A. in 2006, M.B.A. in 2007, and Ph.D. in 2014 from Texas Tech University. ­She is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).

Teaching and Related Service

Dr. Hammer teaches Ethics and Human Resource Management while serving as the co-faculty advisor and Sam Walton Fellow for Enactus.

Her background includes working for two Fortune 500 companies and a large, research university as an organization manager. Dr. Hammer possesses a unique perspective on how to efficiently and effectively operate organizations. Her management philosophy centers on teamwork, being deliberate, and maintaining dedication.

Research and Creative Activity

Dr. Hammer’s research interests include student success, performance management, human resource management and talent development. She holds memberships in American Marketing Association (AMA), Society for Human Resource Management, American Educational Research Association, and the Academy of Management.

Personal Sketch

Dr. Hammer lives in the country with her husband, Eric and three dogs, Charlie, Patches, and Lucy. She enjoys running, hiking, fishing, and scrapbooking in her spare time.
