The Symphony season offers a variety of events including traditional concerts, opera productions, choral and dance collaborations, and live cinema performances. Rehearsals are held:
Strings Sectional: M 11:30-1:20
Full Orchestra: T/TH 11:30-1:20
Audition Information
Auditions are held the first two days of the Fall and Spring semester. Sign-up for an audition time on the bulletin board outside Room 257 in Mary Moody Northen Hall. There are three parts to the audition:
Prepare two short, contrasting excerpts of your choice (each less than three minutes). Choose anything from the orchestral or solo literature that best shows off your abilities.
You'll be asked to play two major scales. Perform only as many octaves as you can play well. This is to exhibit evenness of tone quality and pitch accuracy.
You'll perform a short bit of sightreading.
