About the Choirs

All interested WT students are encouraged to sing in a choir. You don’t have to be a music-major to get involved with the exciting choral events in the music department. With five distinctive ensembles performing a diversity of styles, there is truly something for everyone – even beginners. Collegiate Choir and Men’s Chorus are open-enrollment groups – all you have to do to join is register. Other ensembles require an audition.

Auditions

Auditions for WT Chorale and Chamber Singers are held at the beginning of each fall semester. Students must reserve an audition time by calling the music office 806-651-2840 after August 1. During the short audition, singers will vocalize and demonstrate sight-reading and tonal memory skills to help the director determine which group will be most appropriate for them. Prepared solos are not necessary. Those who wish to be considered for Sforzando should contact Dr. Kuhnert: 806-651-2856.
