Recent Accomplishments

AACSB and ABET Accreditation Initiative Update. The College of Business received final approval for AACSB accreditation July 2012 and ABET in August 2014.  Congratulations to the faculty, staff, students, and other stakeholders supporting these efforts.

Enactus Success.  WTAMU’s Enactus/SIFE team placed in the top 40 at the April 2014 USA National Exposition competition in Ohio .

Faculty Awards. The College of Business announced the following winners of the 2014 faculty and staff awards: Teaching Excellence Award to Dr. Sean Humpherys, assistant professor of CIS and Pickens Professor of Business; Research Excellence Award to Dr. Nick Gerlich, Hickman Professor of Marketing; Service Excellence Award to Dr. Neil Meredith, assistant professor of economics; and Staff Service Excellence Award to Betsey Tonne, administrative assistant for undergraduate programs.

Pulliam Recognized.  Dr. Darlene Pulliam has been named Regents Professor by the Texas A&M University System.  Dr. Pulliam is the first faculty member from the College of Business to receive the honor.

Enterprize Challenge Awards. The $500,000 a year Amarillo Enterprize Challenge is a program of the WTAMU Enterprise Center, funded by the Amarillo Economic Development Corporation, designed to help entrepreneurs expand an existing business or launch a new business. The Enterprise Center operates under the umbrella of the College of Business and judges for the Enterprize Challenge includes a College of Business faculty member and select members from Enactus.  The 2014 Enterprize Challenge winners are Anchor Power Services (President: Ken Paul), Femco Drain Solution (Co-founders: Philip Seidenberger & Aaron Sage & GM: Kyle Ottmers), Innovative Fueling Solutions (Owner & President: Ted Billingsley), Nobox Creative (President: Kim May), and Washerplate (Owner: Steve Hefner).
