AACSB Accreditation Initiative Update. The College of Business received final approval for AACSB accreditation July 2012. Congratulations to the faculty, staff, students, and other stakeholders supporting this effort.
SIFE Success. WTAMU’s Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) team won at regional competition and advanced to the national level of competition for the 18th consecutive year. The team placed in the top 12 at nationals in Kansas City in May 2012.
Faculty Awards. The College of Business announced the following winners of the 2013 faculty and staff awards: Teaching Excellence Award to Dr. Jonathan Shaffer, assistant professor and Pickens Professor of Management; Research Excellence Award to Dr. Huabing Wang, assistant professor finance; Service Excellence Award to Dr. Jeffry Babb, assistant professor of computer information systems and Terry Professor of Business; and Staff Service Excellence Award to Shawna Simmons, administrative assistant in the Dean's Office.
Pulliam Recognized. Dr. Darlene Pulliam has been named Regents Professor by the Texas A&M University System. Dr. Pulliam is the first faculty member from the College of Business to receive the honor.
Enterprize Challenge Awards. The $500,000 a year Amarillo Enterprize Challenge is a program of the WTAMU Enterprise Center, funded by the Amarillo Economic Development Corporation, designed to help entrepreneurs expand an existing business or launch a new business. The Enterprise Center operates under the umbrella of the College of Business and judges for the Enterprize Challenge includes a College of Business faculty member and select members from SIFE. The 2013 Enterprize Challenge winners are Cloud Interview, Interactive 360, Altura Engineering & Design, The Oxbuilt Co., and Hawaiian Fruit Freeze.
