Professional Profile

Eayrs joined the College of Fine Arts and Humanities in the Department of Communication in 2005.  He earned his master of arts degree in communication studies from Bowling Green State University and has a bachelor of science degree in communication – public relations from Missouri Western State University.

Teaching and Related Service

Eayrs teaches a variety of mass communication courses, including: News Reporting, Desktop Publishing, News Editing, Computer-Assisted Reporting, Media Writing and Media Design.

He serves as the adviser for the Prairie, WTAMU's weekly student newspaper.

Research and Creative Activity

Eayrs' research interests include media history, journalism history, media
and popular culture, and journalism/communication education.

His professional experience includes three years as midday
personality and music director for KXIA-FM in Marshalltown, Iowa.
