Dr. Cain joined the Department of Communication in 2010. He received three degrees from The University of Alabama: a B.A. in Journalism in 1996; an M.A. in Journalism in 2002; and a Ph.D. in Communication and Information Sciences in 2007. His graduate studies focused on media history and American history.
Teaching and Related Service
Dr. Cain primarily teaches courses in journalism writing and editing. He also serves as advisor to The Prairie, WTAMU’s student newspaper.
Research and Creative Activity
Dr. Cain is focusing his research on media history in general and on the development and function of the news media in Asia and Eastern Europe.
Personal Sketch
Dr. Cain lives in Canyon. Before moving to Texas, he taught English language reading and writing skills in Seoul, South Korea. He has spent the bulk of his professional journalism career in public broadcasting, most recently as news director of Alabama Public Radio in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
