Building Relationships to Bolster Retention

Our Student Success Coordinators want you to excel throughout your academic journey!

West Texas A&M University is the recipient of a Strengthening Institutions Program, Title III-A grant from the Department of Education, Office of Post-secondary Education to support its commitment to undergraduate student success, retention, and degree completion.

The five-year grant will provide support coaching of first- and second-year students, including first-generation and minority student populations, by full-time Student Success Coordinators and assist with the collaboration and expansion of student support offerings. Each of the University’s five colleges and one school have a college-specific Student Success Coordinator who can support their college's specific retention needs.

The BR2BR foundational element is the individualized coaching of students. Numerous student support services exist on campus, online, and around our community.  Coordinators will assist students in navigating academic and non-academic resources on campus and serve as a liaison connecting students with the support services that will satisfy their needs.

"We are committed to a sharpened focus on success, persistence, and graduation and
to help all students accomplish their academic, personal, and professional goals."
