She received a B.A. in English in 2002 and a M.Ed. in reading specialist in 2008, both from West Texas A&M University. She is currently finishing a Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction/language and literacy with a minor in ESL/bilingual studies from Texas Tech University. Teaching and Related Service Beth Garcia teaches ESL methods and language development for the Education Department. She is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society. Research and Creative Activity Beth Garcia’s research interests include adolescent literacy, the use of series books as a teaching medium and Childe Roland as a cyclical character. She also is concerned with gender related studies and adolescent identity/development. Personal Sketch Beth Garcia lives in Hereford with her husband Ben and their two college-age children, Orion and Ariel. She enjoys reading, cooking and playing with her five dogs. |
