Auditions Auditions are recommended for students interested in pursing dance, musical theatre or theatre. Auditions and interviews provide faculty with insight for scholarship considerations. Dance and theatre faculty usually attend a variety of audition venues in the region, but most prospective students audition on an individual basis on the WTAMU campus. Scholarship and Placement Dance Program Auditions noon-4 p.m. Saturday, January 30, 2010 Mary Moody Northen Hall dance studios, Room 154 Full ballet class followed by jazz excerpts and modern excerpts, then an optional one-minute solo in any style. Wear traditional ballet outfit then optional jazz/modern. Complete the application and email it to Edward Truitt or mail it to: WTAMU Dance Program, Box 60747, Canyon, Texas 79016 before January 25. It's important to RSVP at 806-651-2820 or email Edward Truitt. You can also arrange to audition separately in person or audition via videotape/DVD by contacting Mr. Truitt. Videotape/DVD auditions will be considered for scholarships, but in-person auditions are preferred. Video audition must be post marked by March 30. Musical Theatre, contact Royal Brantley. Please prepare two musical theatre selections: one ballad and one up-tempo. The up-tempo selection should include some choreography. Piano accompanists are not always available, so bring a cd or cassette recording of your music. Also, prepare one contemporary monologue that is 90 to 120 seconds in length. Avoid monologues that require old age characters or heavy vocal accents. Technical Theatre and Stage Management, interview and facilities tour with John Landon.
