We finished posting audtion results at 11 pm last night. Those results were sent to the resident halls for resident campers. The commuters came this morning to Northen Hall to see their placements. At 9 am, the high school students met in Northen Recital Hall to meet their directors and follow them to the rehearsal site. (It was so cute watching the little ducklings waddling in a line behind their "parents" for this week).

[Sometimes my vision is blurry. Get used to it. It happens.] Interestingly enough, the daily bulletin has really tiny clues that the campers look for in order to win prizes, and they seem to figure it out. Ask them to tell you who this person is.

Oh-oh. A lost camper?

Here is the junior high school gathering before rehearsal.

A photo of a floor.

Mrs. Takacs, oboe instructor, tracked down by the camera.

This is a photo of the atrium without campers.

The junior high school varsity band's first rehearsal with Mr. Walker and Ms. Williams.

Mr. Roberts and Mrs. Mitchell with the junior high school concert band. Mrs. Mitchell was selected to be the "director of the day" (in a much informal ceremony), which, nevertheless, was received with great joy and surprise.

Camper had full band rehearsals in the morning. At 1:45 pm we started the required afternoon classes. This is Mr. Zorn with the high school trombone ensemble #2.

The junior high clarinets ensemble #1 directed by Mr. Swails.

A photo of the massive, 57 strong, just short of 76 trombones of musical fame, high school clarinet ensemble directed by Mrs. DuBois.

Across the hall is the junior high version of rhytmic reading.

...and Mrs. Lough, their instructor.

Mr. Worosello conducts the high school woodwind choir. Again, these are the top players at camp.

The oboe reed making class. Mrs. Takacs is teaching them. The band aids are not pictured.

Mr. Kendrick is on staff in the music department. He's a percussionist, who also works for the Canyon schools. I see him everywhere! That guy gets around!

Some more drum major class.

Radiator.

High school horn ensemble. (Sorry the quality. They're practicing being cats and being able to see in the dark.

Student Events workers. They were hazard worker vests in case any campers have questions or need help.

At 3 pm, there are assemblies. One for high school in Northen Recital Hall and one for junior high school in Legacy Hall in the JBK.

Then at 7 pm there was a final band rehearsal. This is the high school white band in Northen Recital Hall (from a distance).

And here is the high school symphonic band in Northen 1010.

Mr. Bennington was also a "director of the day."

That's it for today.
