Today I started with the 7:45 am breathing class. Mr. De La Garza brought donuts for the survivors. Do you remember how many there were the first day? If you guess 85, you were correct! Because I had enough film in my camera, I decided to give each student an individual picture for their perseverance. Here we go.

I know that Mr. De La Garza works out, so a donut is probably a celebration for him, (like falling off the wagon, if you know what I mean). Great job, guys.

Another survivor group is the 7:45 am drum major class. Once again, there are a lot fewer today than what started.

Last day of regular instrument sessions. I missed the first period junior symphonic bassoon class. Look what I found!

There he is. The junior symphonic bassoon section. Party on!

Band camp posters are up. Here were the rules: 1. Something needs to be 3-D; 2. The poster needs to reflect the pieces your band is playing; 3. Toy Story is in there somewhere; 4. Everyone must sign it; 5. Include an appropriate meme; 6. The poster must have caricatures of your band directors. Let's tour the gallery. We'll start with the high school honors band.

Do you know that you can double-click an image on the Internet to get an enlargment. This site isn't like the Internet. I'll have to help you. (And I'm not a very good guide.)

Third period. After I took these pictures, I think I had already visited this class. Stop me if you've seen these before. Symphonic saxophones? Anyone?

The symphonic band clarinets had a masterclass yesterday, so I'm going to try again.

Symphonic band bass clarinets and Mrs. DuBois.

Mr. Swails and the white band bass clarinets.

Ms. O'Bryant and the junior varsity clarinets and bass clarinets.

At 1:30 all of the ensembles perform for each other. I was in the Branding Iron Theatre with the junior high ensembles. First to begin is the percussion ensemble II with Mr. Perry.

Ms. Baumert and the flutes.

Percussion ensemble I with Mrs. Freeman.

Trombones and Ms. Pecht.

The horns with Mrs. Piper

Trumpets and Mr. Conner.

Ms. Caldwell and clarinet ensemble II.

Mr. Swails and clarinet ensemble II.

Mr. Yett and the saxophones.

Mr. Benton and the euphoniums and tubas.

The directors band performed for the camp at 3:30 pm. The members are mostly camp faculty. There are some area band directos who also play in the band. It's pretty impressive that the camp can put together such a great band! Dr. Gary Garner, WTAMU emeritus professor, is the conductor.

About midway through, the various teachers have trophies to award to outstanding students in marching, drum major, rhythmic reading, jazz improvisation, and so forth. There is also a trophy for the most students at camp. Junior high: 1. Canyon JH (59), Greenways.Westover (46), 3. Nimitz JH Odessa (41). High school: 1. Amarillo HS (39), Permian HS Odessa (29), Randall HS (27).

Mr. Tegmeyer was the featured soloist with the band.

Dr. Teweleit shared some pictures from Wednesday. This first set is the mastclass with the third hour clarinets/bass clarinets.

High school assembly, but I don't know what the game is other than it appears to require sitting.

Mr. Tegmeyer is rehearsing with the directors band.

This is from Mr. Tegmeyer's faculty recital on Tuesday night.

This is the morning drum major class. (I recognize the sunlight.)

The jazz band II performance on Wednesday at the high school assembly. Mr. Hinds is the director.

Jazz band I directed by Mr. Storey.

The woodwind ensemble Wednesday evening.

Dr. Teweleit and Mr. Tegmeyer.

We'll try to add some camp ball pictures.
