There's no better way to start off the day than with yesterday's news. Dr. Teweleit was at the high school ensemble performances while I was at the junior high groups. Here are his pictures. This might be percussion ensemble II.

Flute II.

Percussion II (?).

Dr. Eiben and flute I. Each director is responsible for awarding a trophy to the most outstanding member of the ensemble.

Mr. Myers and the trombone II ensemble.

Dr. Shanks and the trombone I ensemble.

Mr. Burns and the trumpet II ensemble.

T  U  B  A  S  .

Dr. Takacs and the trumpet I ensemble.

Mrs. Casso and the horn ensemble.

Let's take an atrium breather.

Let's get back to it. The saxophone ensemble with Dr. Barger.

Oh, no. They tipped over.

Trophies awarded to the schools with the most number of students at band camp.

Individual trophies for rhythmic reading, marching, drum major, jazz improvisation, etc.

Clarinet ensemble with Mrs. DuBois.

Need more atrium time?

Poor, tired camper. My cats do that, too. They don't care who sees them. When they're tired, they just drop down. 18 hrs. a day. Our camper will have to get up soon to go to the directors band concert.

The euphonium and tuba performance. That's a lot of brass!

After the concert, Dr. Garner visits. Mrs. Wooldridge is in the red sweater. She was the band secretary for Dr. Garner for many years. She's been retired, but she came to the concert. Her daughter teaches flute at the camp and she has granddaughters who are music majors at WT. She has strong ties to WT.

Mr. Tegmeyer signing autographs and visiting with band campers.

Mr. Lefevre rehearses the honor band this morning in Northen Recital Hall.

Let's not get anyone in trouble, but this picture was taken from the saxophone section of directors band! Why is he taking pictures? Is his part tacet [meaning "don't play"]? Or did Dr. Garner ask him not to play? Dr. Garner's working; why isn't he?

I'm stationed in the Branding Iron Theatre. This is the junior high school varsity band. Their directors this week have been Mr. Davis and Mrs. Mitchell.

Next up is the junior high school concert band. Ms. Caldwell and Mr. Owen conducted the band this week. This is the point where I didn't get pictures of everyone in every band. We needed to get started and not get behind the schedule.

Mr. Rath and Mr. Montgomery conducted the junior symphonic band.

The band performed "Looney Tunes," so they had a special effects percussion trio feature. it was cute.

The directors also have to select an outstanding band member for their band and award a trophy.

This is the high school white band. Mr. Alfaro and Mr. Hinds were the directors this week.

And the last band to perform was the high school maroon band lead by Mr. King and Mr. Ludlow.

D a r n. I'm out of film!

If someone sends me more pictures, I'll post them here on the Friday page.

If not, I'll buy some more film. It should arrive in time for band camp next July 5.

Have a good year. Thanks for coming to band camp. Bye.

Hold on, pardner. I did get some more photos. Dr. Teweleit was in the Northen Hall Friday afternoon, so he sent these pictures for your enjoyment.

Mr. Lefevre and the high school honor band performance.

Now I think it's over!
